About Us

The Loddon Mallee Rural Health Alliance (LMRHA) was created as a joint venture agreement arrangement as at 1st July 2008 as mandated by the Department of Human Services Rural Public Health Care agencies' alliances policy (June 2008).

The LMRHA foundation members are all publicly funded health services within the Loddon Mallee region which extends from Mildura in the north, Patchewollock in the west, Gisborne in the south and Rochester in the east - approximately twenty five per cent of the land mass of Victoria, with a population of approximately 290,000.

The Alliance was previously operating as a company limited by guarantee and managed through a constitution and a board made up of representatives of the members - it had originally commenced as a joint venture arrangement in 1999 and became incorporated as a company on 21st April 2004.

The Alliance has a history of successful applications for funding from both state and federal government departments, e.g.

2004 - $3.2m from the Australian Government to establish the wide area network between our members (CCIF)

2004 - $300,000 from the Australian Government to conduct the regional broadband broker project (DAB)

2006 - $1.6m from the Victorian Broadband Innovation Fund to conduct the Connecting Clients to Care project (CC2C)

2008 - $5.2m from the Australian Government to conduct the Virtual Trauma and Critical Care Unit project (ViTCCU)
